16 “Tomorrow about this time I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin, uand you shall anoint him to be prince1 over my people Israel. He shall save my people from the hand of the Philistines. vFor I have seen2 my people, because their cry has come to me.”
13 Then Samuel took ithe horn of oil jand anointed him in the midst of his brothers. kAnd the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.
4 And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David iking over the house of Judah.
When they told David, j“It was the men of Jabesh-gilead who buried Saul,”
34 And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet there wanoint him king over Israel. xThen blow the trumpet and say, y‘Long live King Solomon!’
39 There Zadok the priest took the horn of coil from the tent and danointed Solomon. xThen they blew the trumpet, and all the people said, y“Long live King Solomon!”
Jehu Anointed King of Israel
1 Then Elisha the prophet called one of cthe sons of the prophets and said to him, d“Tie up your garments, and take this eflask of oil in your hand, and go to fRamoth-gilead.
3 Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, ‘Thus says the Lord, iI anoint you king over Israel.’ Then open the door and flee; do not linger.”
6 So he arose and went into the house. And the young man poured the oil on his head, saying to him, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, iI anoint you king over the people of the Lord, over Israel.
